Diagnostic Services
Preventative and Diagnostic Labwork
Labwork is a means of checking your pet’s internal functions in a non-invasive manner. These diagnostic services can often reveal developing problems before your pet has begun to show symptoms. We recommend routine lab work to establish baselines and allow for early detection of disease in older patients. We also recommend periodic labwork during maintenance medication courses. We perform a wide variety of tests in our full in-house lab for same-day results. Outside labwork is typically processed through Idexx Laboratories with results often received within days.
Ask your technician about our labwork promotions during our pet’s next examination. They’ll discuss your pet’s medical history with you and help you decide on the preventative lab work that is best for them.
Blood Parasite Screening
The non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology in ultrasounds directs sound waves in order to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Radiology or X-rays helps our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. These important diagnostic tools help our doctors determine the proper course of treatment for your pet’s ailments.
Fecal Examination
The fecal exam is highly recommended by your vet to be performed every 6 months in a typical adult dog and annually in adult cats. Fecal exams test for the presence of hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, coccidia, and many other intestinal parasites, some of which may be contagious from pet to people.
